Okay, so I wanted to make this guy a healer, so which school are healing spells under?
Also, I haven't added in the campaign specific bonuses for being elven

More about Cloister Stultus:

Cloister was born in the cold north to a rich family of nobles. His skin is incredibly pale, partly due to racial reasons, but also because he never saw the outdoors. Why bother with the freezing cold (or later the hot humid air) when you can stay inside with a nice fire place and half a dozen books? Cloister loved reading, and the novels on adventure fascinated him from childhood onward, and he began to take up wizardry as an obsessive hobby since there was no way he could get into proper physical shape for fighting. His parents thought he was too ADD for it and would quickly give up. Wizardry was the one time where he proved them wrong. Now, at 110, he is off studying in Tael (surprisingly not the LoZ purple fairy who believe it or not is a male), a port city down south. Here he has seen more adventure tale craft than he ever imagined to be real, and has geeked out about every single thing.


Also, before anyone says anything about another elf, I actually was doing something quite different. After remembering Zak was one of the main haters of Latra, I was looking at the race list, wondering if I could do anything interesting. It was then that I had the idea: a Minotaur, but not just any Minotaur, an older, wiser Minataur. My idea was to have a character like the guard of Asguard in Thor (Heimdol), and have an epic big wise guy sort of thing. Unfortunately, complications arose, such as that you are forced to take on the monster class until level 7, and I only got 10 skillpoints. The epic character I tried to make is something DnD doesn't want to exist.

An arcane healer? Yeeeeeeeeah, not gonna happen. There might be a few arcane healing spells out there, but definitely nothing at first level.

Basically, your best choice for a healer is some kind of divine spellcaster (so Druid, Paladin or Cleric). There are also some psionic healing abilities, but unless you go Egoist with a psionic, you're really limited for healing.
Arcane spellcasters (such as wizards, sorcerers, hexblades, et cetera) tend to be good for high damage and range, but their main purpose in my eyes is to serve as the AoE for the party. If you go wizard, you're basically making the decision that you're a cross between AoE and the magical equivalent of a skill class. If you have time to prepare a spell, you can do pretty much whatever you want, you're just not good at improvising.
Hrm. I'm wondering if it's worth writing up some class dissection? Give you some kind of idea what different things are good for.

Oh, also, you may want to check with Zak, but I think he was implying core races only. I may be wrong, but that's how I read it.

EDIT: Having looked into arcane healers briefly, the best option you have is taking the feat Arcane Disciple, which allows you to use spells from different domains. I guess this kinda a feat which makes Wizards usable, since they don't have to learn spells, and it would basically give them access to any spell they want at any time. But yeah, from what I can tell, there are in fact no arcane healing spells. Which doesn't surprise me, to be honest.
I mean, I guess you could ask nicely and see if you can get kitted out with some healing items. Other than that? Roll a divine spell caster for healing like a normal person. =P

EDIT2: Also, forgot to ask... is it a Red Dwarf reference with Cloister?

Anyway, I'm totally going to redo him as is, but I have homework I've been neglecting, so not for a little while. Also, i had a brilliant idea that would change everything that will take priority.

Then edit it so that is says only basic races, rather than saying something that could just as easily be saying these are the basic races.
