Okay, I know what you're all thinking... first level arcane spell users have really low hitpoints. Like... really, really low. This is why party balance is important. We are not really designed to take hits, but you will find us very, very useful for other reasons. Apart from anything else, we can justify having great charisma score. =P
So yeah. Watch my back, and it'll pay back ten fold.
That being said, all my spell choices reflect my character's personality. Which has a lot of my own personality in it. He is self absorbed, because he knows he is made of awesome. So! =P
He will be more useful than he looks. Mostly, because as he levels up he gets better. That is spellcasters for you.

More about Bellus Dulcedo III:
Bellus is the third is the youngest in a long line of great, yet rather eccentric, spell casters of the Northbrook Dulcedo family. The Bellus line are known for their self-importance and power-hungriness, and Bellus is no exception to this. Studious and talented, Bellus hopes to learn whatever secret it is that made his father and grandfather alike such world-shatteringly powerful magic users.
Dulcedo has decided to use this time of turmoil as the perfect chance to get away from his studying, and go travel the world to toughen himself up a little, believing that hardening himself in battle will give him that diversity of magical understanding that his parentage hold over him.
Also, he rather hopes that on his travels he'll be finding some powerful magical artifacts. Okay, that's probably a bigger thing for him. He doesn't really think fighting will make him any better. That is for retards with clubs and thick skulls.
