| WIP: I can only define a second racial half in the case of elementals, whereas both this guy's parrents were elves, just different types. If you know what a cormorant is, then you can probably guess what they are! Also, the character generator ran him as a simple half elf, and removed all the specific ones (I actually liked having to take an extra feat just to be allowed to breath air) Cormanthyr Undersoke II "The Cormorant" (Actually the XVII, but he doesn't know that. Also, that makes family dating at least 2,550 years, so it does fit the the 10,000 year time frame) Male Half Aquatic Elf Half Averial Rogue 7 Chaotic Good Representing Thundersceamer Physical Description - Spoiler:

Bio - Spoiler:
Cormanthyr XVI was one of the few Averial to leave their home in frequently to explore regions all over the world. Many thought he was obsessed with exploring other lands, seeing the great sights they offered, and learning from the diverse peoples across the world. After over a century of this, he took his learnings and wrote several volumes of books to be put into the Averian Library. They took the books happily, and were even going to throw a celebration in his honor. Unfortunately, they never saw him after the delivery again. He loved his family, and he loved his home, but the thing was he had found a new home: a place where he could settle down. This place was a port city called that was a bridge between several different cultures. The population was one of the most mixed melting pots of races and ideologies known across the land. He loved the diversity of dozens of cultures, some trying to keep their integrity while others submitting to change, but he also had another reason for staying: Eleena Herlig. She was an amphibious aquatic elf living in the city. They had fallen in love while he was exploring the city for the first time, and when he returned they were quickly married, and lived in a house with three stories: on above water, one below, and a flat roof where you could feel the wind. After three years, she was found to be with child, and starting to think of himself as a father, he re-wrote the series on the world as a version II, and it quickly became a standard 'textbook' of the province. The next six months would be some of the happiest of his life, but unfortunately, things would not go well for him in the final trimester of his first child (that might be grammatically incorrect. final trimester of his wife's pregnancy perhaps? Wait a minute. I'm getting of track aren't I? Wait a minute, I've got to go unload groceries. Alright, I'm back). He was working in his office: he was now a teacher at the university (where most of his students were actually the rich, like you said, young world), and he was met by a dark figure. The dark figure then took him by force, and was never seen again. His wife was heartbroken, and she tried to find out as much as possible about the kidnapping, but was never given a scrap. After a while, she realised that in obsessing over her husband, she had neglected the one part of him she had left: the son whom she had even named for him. By this point, Cormanthyr Jr was thirty six (roughly nineish), and was starting to get into the ancient equivelant of gang-life. Eleena did her best to turn his life around, send him to school instead of becoming a criminal. It didn't work out so well. He became highly edjucated, but nonetheless stayed a part of the small band of thieves. However, this was infact subject to change. One night, when he had been caught by a guard, the guard did more than just judge him as a low-life scumbag. The cop told him he had known his father, and what a good man he was, and that the world was an amazing place however he would never know it from the other side of a dungeon's cell. At first he just pretended to blow it off, but the truth was that the words immediately hit him home. within a week he had told the other members of the troup that he was thinking about leaving, and after they laughed at him, they realized he was serious. They knew he was a good thief, and they didn't want him leaving. However their next move, while it would work well on a man of weak will, it was something would end them. They sent him a message in a, well, creative way. They beat up Eleena, they beat up his own mother, and told her to tell him that if he left the gang that worse would happen. While they were expecting this to be powerful blackmail, Cormanthyr actually did the opposite. He took his mother to the police, and even cooperated with them. After what had had been a little over a century of trying to put away these criminals, the force was able to capture and send all of them off to imprisonment. However, all but one or two of them were literally thanks to Cormantthyr. After the end of the investigation, several of the officers told him he should be a policeman seeing as he had no where else to go. Some officers opposed this, but the majority thought that it would be great if a great criminal had become a great officer of the law. He was mad an officer, and at thanks to him a lot more of crime in the city was eradicated. He was a cop who could think like a criminal. Unfortunately for the cops, this had a drawback. He acted like a criminal cop. He would often search criminals at times that were inappropriate, or break and enter to find sufficient evidence. Not only that, he would paw through just about every secret imaginable. He was nearly kicked out, but each time it was decided that if they fired him for that he would simply go back to criminal life. When he was about one-hundred and twenty-five years of age, was pawing through some old records, when he came across his father's case. His father's case had never been closed, but the thought of hit was like a poison. He wanted to know what happened. All he knew what that his father was killed in his office at and had a blood trail leading toward a hidden back door (though it had been remodeled since and was now public) leading to the beach. He believed from his investigation that it was some kind of elven creature that likely was a better swimmer than his father (though seeing as he was a flyer not built to swim, very much unlike himself). For a brief second he feared it was his mother, but that was quickly ruled out. Besides, the previous investigators already had a suspect: someone known only as . He spent the next year of his life obsessing over this dark figure, and even left the city at times for more information. After investigating a long while, he found an old man who knows much about this figure, and even knows the figure's current general whereabouts. The second part, however, the man would not give away for free, and for this reason Cormanthyr signed up for the nearest well paying job he could find that he could do: guarding an old fashioned dig site. In case you still don't understand why he is called The Cormorant, - Spoiler:
a cormorant is a kind of sea bird that not only flies, but will dive into the water to find it's prey. Cormanthyr is both Avariel and Aquatic elf: and the cormorant-like being is the in between area nature came up with. While his father could hardly swim at all with wings that got in the way, the son has wings that are somewhat fin like with feathers that are incredibly water resistant. They don't even hinder him, instead, like a pair of fins, they help him swim underwater. They aren't the best fins around, I mean, they were after all designed for flight, but at the end of the day flying through air and water aren't so different. As for how he got his nickname, it was one given to him by his criminal friends. Whenever he was arrested he insisted they called him cormorant, and that's what most people started to know him as. When he turned cop, he wanted to get rid of the title, but a fellow cop told him that it would be a bigger win for good if he kept it because it would be seen how much of a turn around he had had. Later, it was solidified as his nickname when he perused an amphibious lizzardman running through the streets. The amphibian jumped into the water to swim away, but Cormanthyr performed a ninety foot dive and pulled the criminal back out of the water. He tried to keep his cool after the arrest, but the extra hop in his step and curl in his lip was impossible to notice, along with the urge to bring it back up again he had for a while.

| Race Charts: Aquatic Half ElvesRacial Traits: Aquatic half-elves have the following racial traits. Humanoid (Aquatic, Elf): An aquatic half-elf has the aquatic subtype. An aquatic half-elf can breathe underwater. She cannot also breathe air unless she also has the amphibious special quality. She can hold her breath outside the water for 2 rounds per point of Constitution. After that, she begins to suffocate. Medium: As Medium creatures, aquatic half-elves have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size. Aquatic half-elf base land speed is 30 feet. Aquatic half-elf swim speed is 40 feet. An aquatic half-elf can move through water at her swim speed without making Swim checks. She has a +8 racial bonus on any Swim check to perform some action or avoid a hazard. She can always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered. She can use the run action while swimming, provided she swims in a straight line. Immunity to sleep spells and similar magical effects, and a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against enchantment spells or effects. Low-Light Vision: An aquatic half-elf can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. She retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions. +1 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks. +2 racial bonus on Diplomacy checks. +2 racial bonus on Survival checks: Aquatic half-elves spend a great deal of time traveling between elf and human settlements on their diplomacy work, and so are accustomed to surviving in the undersea wilderness. Elven Blood: For all effects related to race, an aquatic half-elf is considered an elf. Automatic Languages: Common and Elven. Bonus Languages: Any (other than secret languages, such as Druidic). Favored Class: Any. When determining whether a multiclass aquatic half-elf takes an experience point penalty, her highest-level class does not count. Level Adjustment: +0*. Source: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/UA:Aquatic_Half-ElvesAverians (Winged Elves) >Standard (rather than Elite or Paragon) +2 Strength +2 Dexterity, +2 Wisdom: Winged elves are often aloft so they developed better strength and dexterity due to their flight they are more graceful even on land. Humanoid (elf, feyblood) Medium-size: No bonuses or penalties however when aloft treat as large size for AC purposes. Winged elf base land speed is 30 feet: Winged elves have a glide speed of 40ft and a fly speed of (30 at level 1 with average maneuverability 40 at level 5 with good maneuverability and 50 at level 10 with perfect maneuverability). Flight Reflexes (Ex): 150% Dex modifier when aloft. +2 to Hide, Spot, Move Silently, Listen, Survival, Search, Knowledge and Perform. These skills are added to a winged elves class list. Automatic Languages: Elven & Avariel. Bonus Languages: Any (including secret languages but they count as two languages an they can learn old languages[mainly in ancient tomes or ruins]) Favored Class: Druid and Ranger Level Adjustment: +1 or +2 Source: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Elves,_Winged_%283.5e_Race%29#Racial_TraitsThe reason I posted that is because there are no defined half averial that I know of, but it is theoretically possible. I think tthey were just lazy and only gave the ones that would be really popular halves, so yeah, here's a custom half averial, and the origional so that you can see the changes (removals). Half Averials+2 Strength +2 Dexterity: Winged elves are often aloft so they developed better strength and dexterity due to their flight they are more graceful even on land. Humanoid (Elven Blood) Medium-size: No bonuses or penalties however when aloft treat as large size for AC purposes. | Thank god. For a minute I thought you were playing a second rogue. I thought we were gonna be like, a three rogue party. It was starting to turn into Lord of the Rings, where half the party is composed of Hobbits that can't fight, but can hide really frickin' well. =P | |

| Hrnnn... Well, I can see that you did do SOME editing to the Avarian race for the half-Averian thing...However, the way I see it, its still not nearly enough to take away the ECL added, especially combined with Half-Aquatic Elf. As well, with a bit of research, going by PURE D&D Elf types actually dont mix, they only breed one or the other(apparently), though considering this isn't really a Pure D&D world I'll let that slide. If you want something like this, though, because of the ability to both fly and swim innately, without all that much of a change elsewhere, Im gonna have to impose a ECL of...Hm...+4. Also, since you seemed to think its a bonus, ECL really isn't. What this means is, your character is a level 7 currently, but he'll level up like a level 11. Which is actually a penalty, since it means it'll take you longer to reach level 8(you'll need as much experience as it'd take you to otherwise reach level 12, and then after that you'll need the experience to reach level 13 in order to get your ninth level, ect.). I'll let him in, but just know you'll be getting levels a lot slower than the rest of the team. | |

| Yeah, when i first saw that I thought it was the opposite, that I got some kind of bonus when playing as an Averiel and leveled up faster.
Just to make things fair though, I'm thinking +1 for half Averial and +3 for multiracial elf because the main reason for the +4 you said was flying and swimming. | |

| To be fair, the flying and swimming is pretty much the shtick of those two Elf Species anyways. It amounts to the same, though. Yer Effective Character Level's 11. | |
