Goran you notice these stairs go down a way and a robed man descending. He is however soon to reach the end. The walls are covered with what appear to be etchings of robed and armoured warriors alike fighting a figure on a dragon.

Is he within range of spells? And what color are the dragons?

It depends what spells. What's the range on the spell you're using? He's within sixty feet to be covered by darkvision, so you probably have spells that can get him regardless.

I was thinking magic missile or grease....scratch that last one. I don't have grease.

Darkvision is black and white, so color of the dragons may be a bit harder to tell...

Anyway, Latra follows as well.

Magic missile has a 100ft range, +10 ft per level. Since you're level two, that gives you 120 feet. Which, even assuming your darkvision stacks, is still your maximum vision range.

You could totally cast a spell.

I attempt to see as much as possible by the light of the magic missile. Because I'm assuming it has at least some faint glow, since it is awesome magic.

From level five onwards, they're immune to all non-magical illness. This progresses to the extent where, eventually, they're immune to the effects of old age (with the exception of eventual death).
I may have mentioned before, but Monks are kinda awesome.

The missile hits it's target tried and true, the light source he carried starts tumbling down the stairs and as far as you can tell as does he. After some time of falling you stop hearing a dark and painful sounding "thud" repeatedly followed by silence

"Well then" Goran says, pulling out one of those glow stick things from the pack that Tarn is carrying and igniting it. "Shall we carry on?" He gestures down the stairs.

Eleilla doesn't acknowledge him, and instead decides to slide down the banister, all the way to the bottom, so she can loot the corpse. ^_^
