Less railroad plot than the fact that it's a team-based game. Stick with the group and you won't die. Ask Nik about that. =P

And not the rest of the party. That was a gentle warning because it's your first time. Splitting up the party in a team based game is the same as saying "I want you to kill my character so I can roll a new one". United you stand. Alone you will fall.
Unless you know how to be awesome. Don't get me wrong, it's possible to survive a multi-player campaign with a single player. But you have to be pretty frickin' awesome.

"Alright, well, that was irritating." I say brightly, taking out my cantine and having a drink. "And we have yet to finish this bloody puzzle. Oh well." I plop down on a soft, shaded piece of grass and sharpen my dagger.

Man, I like how I lay this whole plot out before starting the campaign, and when we suddenly reach plot points, people assume I have no plan for how to continue.

You know, it wasn't any sort of Hijack, it would just bring Wat's status up almost to where it was before he hacked at the innocent young flute player.
