The tracks are clearly that of a small group of monstrous scorpions. You're fairly certain based on the time of year that it's a pair. It's their mating season. Monstrous scorpions are a big problem around here, even one can rip a small town like this apart in minutes, and there are hundreds of them out there in the desert. From the looks of things, these ones are a good fifty feet tall. Some might even call them colossal.

Sara mentally marked the location of the tracks in relation to the town, and made her way back to town, intending on hiring a particular half-orc she'd seen in the tavern...But first, she'd have to find him.

You find Orga kicking around outside the inn still.

Zak:
You feel invigorated by the warm desert sun beating down on the back of your neck.
Now would probably be a good time to state what spells you have prepared for the day (good old prepare-ahead-of-schedule casting. Man, I sure love this aspect of spell casters. Wouldn't rather just have a set unchanging list like with a sorcerer for the life of me! =P )

I walk to him, and ask,"Excuse me, sir. You wouldn't happen to be open for some work, would you?"

I prepare two delay poison spells and two heal light wound spells.

I look up at her from where I'm sitting, then look around the...I guess I'll call it a room. "Yeah, yeah I guess I am. What's the work?"

Zak:
I shall assume your spells were prepared earlier in the day, because you are a punctual paladin. =P

I wander into the town and look around for something interesting or someone in need of help.

Roll search.

You overhear a high ogre offering some weird, twisted creature work.

"Hunting. I found the trail of a couple giant Scorpions outside town, and I know I can't take them alone. If you help me, I can clean the carcasses and you can have your share of the food, 45 percent. I need to leave some aside for the people of this town, after all. Sound fair?"

I stare at the creature, not ever having seen anything quite as... odd. It didn't look all too evil or worthy of smiting, it just looked... different. I walk over to the odd, purple elf thing and I smile slightly and casually ask her. "Excuse me, perhaps I could also be of assistance for work? Another pair of hands couldn't hurt." I shrug.

"How big are these scorpions?" I ask as I stand up to my full height so as to get a better look at the two people before me.


OOC: Actually, he wouldn't be able to notice very much of my character at all seeing as he keeps his face and most of the rest of him covered. They only things really noticeable would be his wings that he keeps tightly folded to his back.

Sara smiles at the new arrival. "Yes, more help would be much appreciated." Turning back to her first companion, she responds with,"Judging by their tracks, they looked to be big enough to probably step on a orc and not notice in the slightest. Suffice it to say, I'd not be asking for help if I didn't need it."

"Giant scorpions? Well that sounds lovely. Let me just get my things" He picks up his sword. "All done, let's go"

"The bigger they are, the harder they fall." I say, smirking and patting my blade at my side.

"Well then, we'd better get started! Try to keep up, eh?"Oh She said with a grin, leading back to where she found the tracks in the first place.

You lead them back to where you found the tracks. Roll survival to follow the tracks further. And, you know, if anyone wants to do anything else, or RP at all during this interval, feel free.
