Could we not simply roll a reflex save instead? Or tumble? Or something?

Since you're climbing, I'll assume that's a touch attack, and as a result, both land. Roll damage.

You push your sword under the armour, and you feel it sink into the flesh and through bone, tearing the ligament in its' knee. Its' knee buckles, and it staggers slightly.

Aaaaaand, that makes it the other scorpions' turn. I'll get to redrawing the map.
This would me so much easier with smaller enemies that don't take up like, fifty squares each.
