I begin proceeding to the farmers, whistling as I walk as I relay the plan to Suzy.

WEll, hopefully the farmers will, you know, feed us after a good days work.

Suzy follows with the group, absentmindedly speaking to herself in Elven. The sentences aren't entirely coherent, but anyone listening in who understood her could probably tell she was just staving off boredom right now by thinking on random subjects, not going crazy.

Actually Dylan, I remember you railing on me for not doing anything while he was preparing spells and telling me to pack my bag. So I did

...But then again, now that I know I never have to sleep, a sleeping bag is a bit useless.

Sher is busy watching over the distraught young elf chick (the one that isn't Leila =P ), and neither of them are really paying attention to their surroundings.
The rest of you notice some of the local shops open for business on the way. Of particular note are a small cluster of food stores, butchers, bakers, candlestick makers, grocers, general stores and the like, which are probably a good place to get food reliably, a shop named "Dwight Smith's Blacksmith", what appears to be an Apothecary, a hiking store, and what looks to be a fortune teller's tent.
Presuming none of you stop at any of these, you continue down the road to the point when you can see a large group of farms. None of them seems to be manned by more than one or two farm hands right now.

To be fair Hiro got the same roll as Zak (6).

Leilanad has no money, so he does not stop at the shops.

Now thinking of it, I should put dozens of silver holy symbols in my inventory so I can sell them and become instantly rich!

Mordecai approaches a friendly neighborhood farmer "Greetings! I am the great bard Mordecai, might you have any odd jobs you might need the services of a humble adventuring party?"

"Not that we've already found one or anything," said Leilanad walking ahead of Mordecai and heading toward the farms.

The farmhand looks up at you Mordecai.
"I cayun't offer you no work, mister, buh th' mastur cayun. Lots o' bandits raidin' us of recent, if'n you be catchin' mai meanin', sirs. He'sum bein' out at market, if'n you want to talk to him. Man wi' a dumb ol' flat cap."
He points back towards town.

"Well, I suppose we could walk back or wait here. I think I'd much like to walk back." Sher said, frowning slightly.

"See how much trouble we saved simply just asking someone?" I laugh and begin my walk back to town after thanking the man kindly, probably with a fanciful bow or some such activity.

The man tips his straw hat to you respectfully.
Assuming everyone follows on, you head back to town, and the flow of the mid-morning crowd makes it quite clear where the market is. The market is abuzz with all kinds of vendors, from simple trinkets to ornate weaponry, from fortune tellers to evangelists, from mercenaries to mechanics. Near the centre is a noticeably thinner crowd, around a selection of farming stalls, all of which seem to be severely understocked.

Leilanad actually asks the master's name before they go.
