"Now if you excuse me I'm not going to let a bigot get us all killed," Leilanad said in referance to Wat's earlier racist comment about elves. He then jumped backward out of Wat's reach.

I see what you're saying now. For some reason I was thinking +20 for strength. I need to facepalm a bit for that and the fact that I said +2 not +7 for reflexes

| Or you could actually listen to the DM and roll initiative. You're actually moving into combat now, so things work slightly differently. =P | |

| Meanwhile, while those two are duking it out, Suzy watches and nonchalantly takes one of the coins for herself. After all, the half-elf most certainly doesn't look like he wants his, so she might as well be the one to get it! | |

| Until anyone else steps in, the combat order is Wat-Sun, Leilanad, Errwick.
Wat-sun lands a punch to Leilanad's face. Non-lethal damage, 1d4+strength. Roll it.
Yeah, you and me both, Nik. I've rolled one twenty on this forum ever. Zak rolls a one or a twenty every other post. =P
Hiro takes the next coin, which is met with a sturn glare from Errwick. Although it's difficult to tell that someone is glaring sternly when they're wearing a helmet. The coin seems to feel cool in your palm.
Hiro is correct. There were five coins. I find it more amusing to assume your character only saw three coins, personally. The fact that there are five is now player knowledge. =P

| I mean, it was my failure to see that there were five coins, not my characters. He has decent search, and great spot. So now what? Do we have to continue down this road even though I know what's going on is out of character and all? | |

| I'm feeling generous, we'll let the dice decide. Roll spot to see if you saw the coins. If you saw them, we can redo, otherwise things carry on as they are. For the record though, general procedure is, if the player misses it, so does the character. | |

| It's very simple nik. You get punched in the face, roll a spot check, apologize, let Errick heal you, and we go about our merry way. - Sir Orgadude of Awesomton carried out 1 launched of one d4 :

| I just had another idea. It's very creative, but I may be overstepping my bounds with it.
Leilanad tried to get up, but upon reaching his feet dots clouded his vision. He then stumbled into a wizard practicing spells on time manipulation, and knocked him over. The magician said the wrong thing and made the wrong motion as a result, and the world around him shimmered for a second.
"So we'll likely be facing poorly armed goblin skirmishers or scouts to begin with, some heavier hitting orcs in probably crudely made plated or mail armour, maybe some hobgoblins here or there, if they can recruit a larger adversary to their side, such as a troll or an orgre they'd send that at us or even if they have to reaminate its corpse... Oh and a few stout beareded fellows in heavy armour with an unhealthy fetish for axes will probably be guarding the more important locations." Sher said, mulling over the prospect. "I say Wat-Sun goes in first."
"Agreed," Leilanad replied.

| Slightly overstepping them, yeah. =P Basically, the problem with outright allowing people do-overs is that people abuse them ( For an example skip forward to 4:00). So as a general rule, I'd prefer not to see them at all. I'll agree to a dice roll to decide, that's the best you're getting. | |

So I take the last remaining coin, and we forget about the fight?

| An easy dodge if I get another attack.
Essentially Leilanad is bracing himself so that it will be easier to dodge an oncoming attack.

| Bleh. This is why I should send people a copy of the players handbook before we start. You don't need to roll to dodge. Your chance to dodge/deflect an attack is decided by your armour class. On each player's turn or "action", they get a set number of standard actions and single actions. Basically, on your turn, you are able to move your base speed in feet, then take, at first level, a standard action and a single action. Standard actions are things that take a long time to do, like attacking. A single action would be something small, like taking something out of your rucksack.
TL;DR... You don't need to roll dodge. Just attack.
