It's early afternoon.

"Well, lets get to work and butcher these things... Maybe we can make some shelter from the carapace." I turn and look for the ranger. "Where are you, ranger? Come out and help with these beasts."

Sara unhides herself, nodding. "It would probably be best to drag a portion of meat on the carapace. We'll be able to get more food to the village that way, and there'll be more to divide amongst ourselves that way." She says, getting her knife ready to begin cleaning the corpses and then looking at her puny, puny knife compared to the giant scorpions. "Uhhhhh...Would one of you mind if I borrow your sword for this? I should be able to clean these and strip them of edible meat but my knife is rather...Small for such a task. Oh, and whatever happened to that...I believe you called it a 'McFeathers combo'?"

Orga unsheathes his sword with one hand and flips it in the air, catching it by the blade, the hilt pointing at the ranger. "If you think you can handle it" he says, smirking underneath his shawl.

My eyes narrow and I look around for my mount, sensing a faint life from my connection to him. "Mr. McFeathers?" I call loudly.

Alas, you notice a brief flicker as your mount de-summons. He's gravely injured, and won't be able to return for another 24 hours.

Sara grabs the sword with a 'You kidding me?' look on her face, and proceeds towards the first scorpion to begin cleaning it and removing as much of its shell as possible.

Hacking away like an expert butcher, Sara quickly strips the two scorpions down to their constituent parts, making a pile of meat larger than you could possibly carry, a makeshift waterskin for each of you (alas, still empty), two further waterskins full of venom extracted from the stingers (at least twenty doses in each), and a collection of scorpion shell pieces and internal organs, ready to be buried to stop the smell from rising. In addition, you also manage to recover the corpse of a previous victim from one of the scorpion's stomachs. It seems to have very little of value, other than a battered wand secreted in its' largely digested robe.

After taking back his sword and sheathing it, Orga picks up and inspects the wand.

Roll me Int (or if you have any variation on a Detect Magic spell, you can use that).

After close inspection you recognise this as a magical item that most peoples of the world are familiar with, even if most haven't seen it before. This is a Wand of Cure Moderate Wounds.

"....Holy shit" Orga satres dumbfounded at the wand for a few seconds before pointing it at himself and saying "GO GO, CURE MODERATE WOUNDS!"

Orga taps the end of it and tries again. "I said, GO GO CURE MODERATE WOUNDS!"

The wand splutters and fizzles.

Orga shakes the wand furiously, but does not rage cause he's out of those, I think. "COme on you stupid peice of shite! WORK!"

There's a loud bang and a fizz, and the wand leaps out of your hand. You can't activate it for another 24 hours (although others can).

"Useless piece of junk!" Orga spits on it and walks away to inspect the meat, mumbling to himself about broken items and squishy wizards.

The meat seems a lot like freshly cut scorpion meat to you. It doesn't taste great, but beggars can't be choosers.

I glance warily at the barbarian and then proceed see if we can make some sort of sled out of the carapace and put the meat in there.
